Highlights of the BIS Small Business Survey 2015

In May this year, the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) - since rebranded as the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) - released the first Longitudinal Small Business Survey (LSBS), of which 15,502 owners and managers took part. Whilst technically a continuation of the annual Small Business Survey (SBS), which has been published since 2003, the LSBS operates on a far larger scale than the previous survey, and the considerably larger sample size will offer greater comparison in the future and provides more reliable findings for key sub-groups of the small business population.
