Kigo has been selected as one of three UK SMEs to receive £13,000 in business‑case development funding through the Smarter Transport Systems – AI in Transport competition

Kigo has been chosen by Connected Places Catapult as a finalist in the Smarter Transport Systems – AI in Transport programme, recognising its innovative approach to transforming school‑run mobility. Kigo’s solution, the School‑Run Optimiser, uses artificial intelligence to help schools and local authorities redesign the daily school journey by optimising routes, encouraging walking and cycling, and enabling safer, more efficient shared travel arrangements. As one of only three SMEs selected from a competitive field of 83 applicants, Kigo will receive £13,000 in funding plus specialist support to develop a robust business case and engage prospective clients. This opportunity positions Kigo to contribute meaningfully to smarter, safer, and more sustainable local transport systems across the UK.
