Connect to Work – Free employment support across Greater Essex Helping you overcome barriers and take your next step into meaningful work
Connect to Work is a free, voluntary employment support programme for people who are not currently in paid work and face barriers to employment. This can include health conditions, disabilities, or personal challenges.
Funded by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), it is delivered in partnership with local authorities and expert providers across Essex, Southend-on-Sea, and Thurrock.
Why join Connect to Work?
- Personalised, one-to-one support Work with a dedicated key worker to identify your goals, build confidence and create a plan that works for you.
- Training opportunities Access workshops, training and development tailored to your needs and local employer requirements.
- Help with job search and applications Get support with CV writing, interview preparation and job applications. Plus access to local job opportunities and ongoing support once you are in work.
- Health and wellbeing support Receive help with mental health, housing and other personal challenges that may be affecting your ability to work.
Who is it for?
This programme is to support people who fall into the following categories:
- A disabled person, who has a disability or a long-term health condition, as defined in the Equality Act 20104 or the Social Model of Disability; or
- Meet the definition of one of the specified disadvantaged groups with additional multiple and complex barriers that would benefit from support.
