Theresa May Announces £2.5 Billion British Patient Capital Fund to Invest in Innovative UK Firms

The £2.5 billion British Patient Capital Programme has been launched to enable long-term investment in innovative companies across the UK.

The Government wants UK technology companies to benefit from public funding and greater access to talent and data. In response to this desire, Prime Minister Theresa May announced a range of measures designed to boost the tech sector at the 2018 London Tech Week. Among the measures set out is the British Patient Capital (BCP) Fund. This £2.5 billion investment programme is designed to support high growth potential innovative UK tech businesses in accessing the long-term financing they require to scale up and go global.
