Grand Challenge Launched for New Technology that will Help Create Metals from Resources Found on Other Planets

An ESA Grand Challenge worth €500,000 sponsored by the UK company Metalysis, has now been launched.
The European Space Agency (ESA) Grand Challenge is a competition intended to inspire innovation in areas which are far from market. It is part of the ESA's Space 4.0 strategy which aims to promote and facilitate the 'creation of a sustainable ecosystem of innovation-led start-ups and new ventures'. Challenges are proposed by Industry, and companies compete to develop solutions, which may be technical, scientific or societal.
