Description
As part of our series of "Doing Business in..." seminars, the World Trade Centre Hull & Humber is pleased to invite you to our free to attend "Doing Business in China" seminar on Thursday, 2nd October, 8.30am-11am at Forest Pines Hotel, Brigg.
The Chinese economy has grown at just under 10 per cent a year for 32 years, overtaking Japan in 2010 to become the world’s 2nd largest economy. According to the OECD, China is projected to overtake the US in 2016 (in PPP terms).
While many of the world’s major economies are still struggling to recover from economic contraction, China’s economy still grew by 8.2 per cent in 2012.
Traditionally, China has provided low-cost manufacturing solutions for the global market, but exports declined sharply after the global downturn and China’s manufacturing industry has responded by quickly moving up the value chain.
While the rise of China is easy to acknowledge, businesses constantly need to catch up with the speed and depth of change and development in China’s large and complex market space.
Speakers
We are pleased to announce that we will be hearing from the Giles Blackburne, Director, China-Britain Business Council who will detailing the key areas of opportunity and advising the audience on the expected business language and culture.

Sarah Cave, Head of Leadership at Primeast, a global learning and development organisation, will share her experiences of working in China and the challenges of designing and delivering a leadership programme (in Mandarin) for the Fujian Refining & Petrochemical Company - a conglomerate of culturally diverse organisations from the US, China and Saudi Arabia.
